A new beginning - Chop Chop Inc.

Hey itch.io community! We are excited to start a new journey and finally share the very first look at our upcoming project: Chop Chop Inc.

Our background and journey:

Earlier this year (mid-2025), our former company closed its doors and we were laid off. That left us with a pretty big decision: leave the games industry, join another studio, or take the risk of building something of our own from scratch.

We chose the third option, because we love making games, being independent and to suffer.

Since then, we’ve been speedrunning the whole process of founding our new studio.

And because we cope with humor, we thought: Wouldn’t it be hilarious if our first game was about a protagonist who gets fired?

What is Chop Chop Inc.?

Chop Chop Inc. is a first-person woodcutting and furniture-crafting simulation game for PC, where you:

  • Explore a rich world and gather resources
  • Craft and distribute a wide range of furniture
  • Grow your skills and build your business from the ground up

With its lighthearted tone and humorous style, the game offers an engaging experience that rewards exploration, creative problem solving and steady progression.

What’s next?

In the next devlog we will show you some of the fundamental design ideas behind the game (e.g. the level design structure, the main interaction layer, the progression).

What do you think?

What do you like to see content wise, just game related stuff or company related stuff as well (e.g. how we made our pitchdeck and got good responses from publishers)?

What do you think about the prototype of our project page: https://nullref-entertainment.itch.io/chop-chop-inc?

Thanks for being here! If you like to participate in our journey, are interested in our game Chop Chop Inc. or even just support indie projects from the early stages, feel free to join our little community.

NOTE: If you join our Discord before January 2026, you will get Early Bird benefits like “Your username in the game’s credits”, additional launch discount and more!

Cheers! Daniel, Sebastian, and Wolfgang
